This Is the Actual Format For a Bar/Club that is beautiful in it's atmosphere, design, 20 foot high ceilings, Chrome rail bar, leather bar stools, unique tile floor, LED lighting throughout, but when it comes to their branding, their marketing, I must say, it is "Bar Begging". There are so many Creative Concepts, Sensational Strategies that should be applied , but instead, this venue which is open just three nights a week, offers the following:
THURSDAYS: $1 Beer All Night, Same DJ Every Week
FRIDAYS: $3 Wells $ 4 Bombs $75 Bottles of Vodka, Same DJ every Week
SATURDAYS: $5 Jack & Jim $6 Any Pint, Same DJ Every Week
When a venue places it's sole marketing on the price of drinks, beers, shots, as the lure to attract guests, they are targeting the entirely wrong crowd. Owners have such ego, they know it all.
I know of a banquet hall owner who purchased a huge facility, told the newspaper that "He knew it all", so what happens, after a few decent months, the place is a ghost town, run down, half the sign is blown out, and this is the first visual potential "Rental Customers" see.
he did not "know it all", in fact again, ego out weighed keeping quiet and listening to an Expert, rather than everyone and anyone.
This industry has more "know it alls", who really are "know nothings".
"Oh I want to be a club promoter", "I want to own a bar", I want to run a restaurant", but all three of these are totally unqualified to do any of their "WANTS".
Years ago, My Father looked at the Club, my Partner and I just bought and told us "Boys the success rate for a Disco when Disco is dying, is 95% failure".
That alone fired us up, and after just a year in biz, we sold the club for $100,000. MORE than we paid for it.
But, my Partner and myself, we ate, slept and breathed, the club , 24/7.
Neither of us, took a day or night off.
We were a team, I did all the Marketing, the Promotions, the Radio Spots off the top of my head, he did all the hands on work.
I loved him. He was the Best Partner, anyone could have.
We took lightening bolts and put them in the new tile floor we had put in.
We put a thousands of dollars "Saturday Night Fever" dance floor in.
We had an electric Hot Dog Cart, and the Young Lady selling them did almost $1000 a week.
We had Champagne Buckets, before any club even know they existed.
We had a nine piece house band and a DJ.
We always had a cover charge.
We sold cigarettes for $3, my Vending Machine Guy, thought I was crazy, I said "If they want em, they will pay for them". He gave us a check each month for at least $1000.
Every Night we were open, we had "WOW" going on.
We never signed a "Non Compete" with the previous owners, who ran down the street and opened a Country Bar, we could care less. We buried them.
We use to go to the Beach during the day,just drink from a bottle of "DOM", and CHILL for a few hours.
We were on a ROLL........................

What you have to think about, what have no clue what to do, I know it ALL.

This notion that accepting cash is a bad way to do business is the dumbest concept, I have ever heard.
FYI, Many Millennials do not believe in Plastic, or Pay By Phone App. No, they really don't.
They prefer cash.
They want to pay with "GREEN".
Now, all of a sudden, this "Terrible Trend" of not accepting cash, is totally insane. The Strategy should be you accept all forms of payment other than "Bit Coin". This thinking that Cash is a Crash, is way off the rails.
Just like accepting Cash only defies common sense.
Appeal to everyone , by every way they want to pay.

Don't listen to anyone else, accept all forms of payment, and don't discourage one for the other.
There is no upside going one way or the other.

YOU SHOULD BE USING "UBER EATS", "GRUB HUB", "DOOR DASHES, AND ANY 3RD PARTY DELIVERY SERVICE IN YOUR AREA.
DELIVERY IS A BRAND NEW HUGE SOURCE OF REVENUE FOR EVERY ESTABLISHMENT, FROM FAST FOOD, TO SIT DOWN CASUAL, TO UPSCALE EATERIES.
THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTORS ARE "PRESENTATION OF FOOD", FORGET STYROFOAM AND OLD PACKAGING. NEXT IS "QUALITY OF FOOD BEING DELIVERED" AND "SPEED @ WHICH THE FOOD WILL ARRIVE @ CUSTOMER'S DOOR". RESTAURANTS, REMEMBER THIS, "SIT DOWN DINING" IS DOWN 10%-15% AND IS EXPECTED TO EVEN GO HIGHER.
THIS GENERATION, OUR LIFESTYLES NOW, THE CULTURE NOW, IS NOT TO GO OUT AND SIT FOR DINNER ANYMORE.
I HAVE URGED RESTAURANTS OVER & OVER TO STOP SERVICE @ 10PM AND BRING ON THE NIGHT LIFE. THAT IS WHERE THE $ IS NOW. SURE YOU CONTINUE TO MAINTAIN EXCELLENT QUALITY FOOD, PRESENTATION, SERVICE. BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS, YOU WANT TO TAKE YOUR RESTAURANT AND "TRANSFORM" INTO A NIGHT LIFE ADVENTURE.
I HAVE DONE THIS PROCESS HUNDREDS OF TIMES, WITH ZERO FAILURE, PROVIDING OWNERS FOLLOW MY COURSE OF ACTION AND STAY IT.
YOU HAVE THE SPACE, YOU HAVE THE ABILITY, ALL YOU NEED IS THE MOTIVATION. I SPECIFICALLY MEAN CATERING TO A 25 AGE PLUS DEMOGRAPHIC, WITH A DRESS WITH STYLE CODE, CHARGING A COVER CHARGE, OFFERING A VIP CARD SO THAT YOUR BEST GUESTS , DON'T HAVE TO WAIT IN A LINE, BUT DISPLAY THEIR CARD AND IN THEY GO. I ALSO SUGGEST A HAND HELD WAND, TO CHECK FOR WEAPONS, THE RIGHT TO CHECK POCKETBOOKS. TIMES HAVE CHANGED WHERE ANY TYPE OF WEAPON CAN DO SERIOUS HARM.
IT'S THE MUSIC YOU SPIN, THE CROWD YOU CATER TO, THE ATMOSPHERE YOU FEATURE, THE CALIBER OF YOUR STAFF, YOUR MANAGEMENT, IT ALL ADDS TO EITHER A VERY POSITIVE OR UNFORTUNATE NEGATIVE IMAGE.
DISCOUNTING DRINKS, CHEAP BEER, IS NOT THE ANSWER. IF ALL YOUR GOING TO DO IS FEATURE A DJ, THAT'S THE EXTENT OF YOUR ENTIRE FORMAT, THEN DON'T EXPECT TO DO TREMENDOUS CASH FLOW, LIKE I CREATE. I DOMINATE A NIGHT LIFE MARKET. I EMPTY OUT THE COMPETITION. I ATTRACT BEAUTIFUL WOMEN AND MEN WHO SPEND. BUT I AM "CONSISTENT", THAT IS THE KEY. SO MANY BARS, CLUBS, BAR & GRILLES, EVEN SPORTS BARS, AS WELL AS GENTLEMAN'S CLUBS ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE, WITH NO SET OF STRATEGIES TO IMPLEMENT, NO "WOW FACTORS" TO TAKE OVER SOCIAL MEDIA WITH, NO "FUN", THAT DRAWS THE SPECIFIC GUESTS YOU WANT.
LOOK @ ALL THE MISTAKES YOUR MAKING, LOOK @ ALL THE MISSTEPS YOU HAVE MADE? ISN'T IT ABOUT TIME YOU TURNED THE PAGE AND WIPED THE SLATE CLEAN?
